I’m thinking that I’m going to join Project Peace 2017 – I heard about it from a blog post by Chasing Stories. It is a KAL (knit along) combined with blog posts about peace. I’ve done a KAL once before when someone gifted it to me and I loved it…the concept of knitting along with other knitters, even if you are separated by distance, is a fun way to connect, and I’m intrigued by how The Healthy Knitter uses knitting as a way to promote peace. My only hesitation is that my little barnacle might make this a difficult feat…

What project are you considering working on this December? Will you make anything for yourself, or only make for others as gifts?

This December I will be working on finishing the projects I already have going but probably working most on my Easy Folded Poncho from Churchmouse (mmmm, it’s in Malabrigo Rios!) and some vanilla self-striping stockinette socks …. they’re both mindless knitting which is perfect for picking up between work/home/family responsibilities!

That’s brilliant to pick mindless knitting for the season.

Oh! And I also just went through my craft books and have two that I have finished that I was wondering if you’d be interested in that seem quite relevant to this post ….. “Knitalong: Celebrating the tradition of knitting together” by Larissa Brown / Martin John Brown … and “Knitting for Peace: make the world a better place one stitch at a time” by Betty Christiansen. I read both books early in my knitting “career” and loved the articles and content for being part of a knitting community and knitting for more than oneself (I’m not always the best at it though recently….)…. I’d love to mail them to you if you’re interested, just let me know! 😀

  3. I hope you enjoy this KAL. I think we all need a bit of knitting peace in our lives.
