Here it is! The not-at-all waited for first Journey to Handmade podcast episode!

In this episode you will be enthralled by my adventures of winding my own center-pull ball of yarn using non other than the ancient Nostepinne.

P. S. – I realize now that for this to be an authentic knitters podcast I need a mug of some coffee or tea and a chance to show off my FOs and WIPs. Will remedy in episode 002!

Yay! This one was quite a rough draft because this is 100% new to me, but I figured it was better to just get started and learn from there!

Yay!!! I loved hearing and seeing you 😍 I personally love a handwound ball over a yarn cake, but I might need to figure out a nostepinne as an inbetween. Winding a ball by hand helps me understand the yarn and it’s texture as I go and catch any odd spots or stray knots.

Then the Nostepinne would be right up your alley! I have to say I’m enjoying it the more I’m using it 🙂

Looking more at that part I wonder if your wheel had a flax distaff? Thinking something like this? https://goo.gl/images/X9ao5p

Yes! It looks exactly like that except I don’t have the whisk-like contraption on the end. I’ve never figured out what I was supposed to do with those sticks!
