I cannot wait for 2018.
People I know and love remind me that the new year is just a new number on the calendar, that resolutions can be made any time. But for me, the new year rolling in marks a period of time that I can reflect on and brings in a fresh block of time to make my mark on.
This could totally be a personality type thing. But I love it.
My one little word for 2018 is DISCOVER.
I want to discover new crafts. I want to discover new skills in the crafts I’ve known and loved for years. I want to discover my potential for this phase of life. I want to discover living, not just dreaming. I want to discover Scripture and God in ways I’ve not before. I want to discover new places, new friends, and new ways of thinking. I want to discover new activities with my little ones.
Ultimately, I want to look at life with fresh eyes this year, learning and discovering in the everyday places and circumstances that I find myself. It is about being present and experiencing real life as deeply as possible, with awe for the world around me.
